Now I want to migrate OS to this SSD drive using Samsung migration utility, but as mentioned in Samsung Manual it doesn't support RAID and my laptop is RAID.

Please note I am unable to install Samsung's own firmware and Samsung's NVME driver, currently its working on some windows driver. I have installed Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD on my Dell G3 3579 which originally had only single HDD drive with Windows 10 on it. Hope this helps those who are looking for a solution for AHCI instead of RAID. Go to Dell support site and download necessary updates and tools.

Go to Samsung site and download and install Magician and NVME driver for EVO 970. After completion of Windows 10 installation and install Virus programme. It immediately prompts Windows 10 installation.ġ1. Turn off the laptop open the back panel remove existing NVME PCIe SSD 256GB install EVO 970 NVME PCIe SSD 1TB. Download the tool and create a Windows 10 Installation USB. Now the laptop is in AHCI mode with normal boot.Ĩ. In the tab "General", ensure to select "Normal start up". Go to System Configuration and i n the tab "Boot", un-select "Safe Boot". In the Setting, move to System Configuration and to SATA Operation.ĥ. Turn on laptop and at the same time, press F12 to load Boot Options.Ĥ. Click Windows Logo and in the Windows Administrative Tools, locate "System Configuration" and click it to open.Ģ. However, EVO 970 form factor is 2280, meaning 80 mm long.ġ. My laptop is Dell new 14" Model 5482 which came with 256 GB NVME PCIe SSD in the form factor of 2230, meaning a very short one, only 30 mm long. These are the steps I took and it worked perfectly. I decide a clean Windows 10 installation under AHCI. Therefore, the task is to change RAID to AHCI to use EVO 970 properly.
Under RAID, Samsung Magician Software does not recognize EVO 970 NVME and Driver for EVO 970 does not get installed. However, Dell laptops are set to RAID by default. I wanted to install Samsung EVO 970 NVME PCIe SSD 1TB, and learned that it works normal under AHCI.
